The following quick start guide is to help you get setup for the first time. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an on boarding call, please reach out to your Account Manager.
Creating a Survey:
Once Survey created, next step is to add Questions to the Survey:
Best Practice Creating a Survey:
- Short descriptive questions, preferably those that can fit on one line
- Ask no more than 3 questions at a time, we suggest asking 2 questions to start
- Ask for additional feedback after survey
- Promote it, the more you ask for feedback the more you will get (no brainier but good reminder)
App Settings within Portal:
Capture Photo: Enabling this setting will capture a photo via the front facing camera on the iPad each time feedback is given. These photos are stored along with the ratings within the portal. Please be sure you have proper permission prior to enabling this.
Capture Additional Info: Enabling this setting will place a button on the ‘Success’ page which will allow the customer/employee to share additional information via free text form box.
Capture Email Address: Enabling this setting will place a button on the ‘Success’ page which will allow the customer/employee to share their email address after giving feedback.
Display Success Page: This setting will control how the ‘Success’ page is used within the survey.
Every Question: Success page will be displayed after each question within a survey.
Every Survey: Success page will be displayed after each survey.
Never: Success page will never be displayed.
Success Screen Display Time (Seconds): This setting will control how many seconds the ‘Success’ page is displayed before routing to the next survey question.
Survey Abandon Reset: This setting will reset the Survey to the first question if a Survey is started but not completed. Example (4 Question Survey): User only selects feedback on question 1 and 2, after x seconds the survey will log the feedback and reset back to Question 1.
Survey Abandon Reset Time (Seconds): This setting will control how many seconds before the Survey will reset back to Question 1. Survey Abandon Reset must be enabled.
Notifications can be created to be alerted for specified feedback within specified surveys. You can select to be notified via Email, Text Message, or Both.
Disable iPad Sleep Mode:
Prevent the iPad from entering a Sleep Mode, this is important to ensure the Kiosk is always on and available for feedback.
Settings -> Display Brightness -> Auto-Lock=Never
Enabling guided access mode on the iPad is important so others are not able to exit out of the app while the iPad is in Kiosk Mode capturing feedback.
To enable Guide Access (see video):
Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Guided Access -> Enable Guided Access & Enable Accessibility Shortcut.
Now the guided access is enabled, next open the SurveyStance app and launch a survey.
Once the app is displaying the survey in Kiosk Mode press the ‘Home Button’ on the app 3 times and click Start.
